Join our team for a summer filled with the excitement and adventures of being a part of summer camping with children and families!  Camp Artaban on beautiful Gambier Island in Howe Sound is hiring for seasonal work commencing with part time in May and full time through the summer camping season.

We are seeking individuals with different skills and abilities to fill a variety of positions, including: kitchen staff; waterfront staff; and a first aid attendant.  Camp Artaban is hiring:

Head Cook - responsible for providing food services (meal planning, ordering, preparation, meal service, kitchen management, etc.) for up to 175 people per meal and leading a kitchen crew of 5 others. Food Safe level 2 mandatory, Standard First Aid and experience cooking for large groups is required.

Assistant Cook - responsible for assisting the Head Cook in all areas of food service (meal planning, ordering, preparation, meal service, kitchen management, etc.) . Will act as main cook in Head Cook’s absence. Must have Food Safe level 1 (Level 2 an asset), Standard First Aid and experience cooking for large groups is required.

Kitchen Helpers - responsible in all areas of food services including: preparing and serving meals, catering to special diets, and general kitchen clean up. Must have Food Safe Level 1 (Level 2 an asset) and Standard First Aid.

Head Lifeguard - responsible for managing all operations of our open ocean waterfront program. They are in charge of program development, water safety, ongoing rescue training, and delegating tasks to the other lifeguards.  NLS required (beach option an asset); Standard First Aid and CPRC required (OFA level III an asset); Pleasure Craft Operator Card required; Boating experience an asset.

Assistant Lifeguards - responsible for working with the Head Life Guard to manage our open ocean waterfront program. They are responsible for program development, water safety and supporting the needs of the Head Lifeguard.  NLS required (beach option an asset); Standard First Aid and CPRC required; Pleasure Craft Operator Card required; Boating experience an asset.

First Aid Attendant - responsible for the health and safety of all staff and campers. OFA level 3 or a graduate of a provincially recognized first aid course from WorksafeBC or Wilderness First Aid is required. Field experience with children recommended. Belay ticket and experience with climbing an asset.

All staff over the age of 18 will be required to submit a clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.  Completion of WHMIS will be required before the start of employment.
